On Game Day... Go Gold!
Initiated in 2003, this Southern Miss athletic theme is more than just a slogan - it is a mission.
"Go Gold" is a cheer to our athletes and a message to our fans. The Southern Miss faithful are encouraged to support all University athletic teams by doing more than attending sporting events. Fans should "Go Gold!"
David Ham '86, and a dedicated group of alumni, staff, students and community leaders, are the driving force behind this effort. The goal is to have "all-gold" crowds at at all Southern Miss athletic events to intidimate opponents and inspire the Golden Eagles to victory.
The campaign has been an overwhelming success and continues to this day. All Golden Eagle fans are expected to do their part and "Go Gold!"
