IRVING, Texas -- Southern Miss sophomore setter Sarah Bell has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
Bell boasts a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in biological sciences. She is currently No. 10 nationally with 11.43 assists per set. She has recently moved up to No. 7 on the Southern Miss career-assists record book with 2,530 in her two years. The San Antonio native has seven 50-plus assists outings this year with 15 in her tenure. Bell is also a past President's List member and earned a C-USA Academic Medal.
Bell's prowess has also allowed Southern Miss to improve its hitting percentage by 61 points from the previous year, which was also a 24-win season. Her sets to Stephany Purdue also helped the senior to becoming the program's all-time kills leader.
The Golden Eagles (22-7, 11-3 C-USA) take on North Texas tonight in Houston for the first round of the C-USA Championships.
