Junior Kristen Fleming earned her first career Setter of the Week honor

IRVING, Texas - Earning their first C-USA weekly honors are Carly Boatright of Tulsa and Southern Miss' Kristen Fleming. Boatright accounted for 2.29 blocks per set to earn Defensive Player of the Week merits, while Fleming was named Setter of the Week with a 14.50 assists per set average. The reigning Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, senior McKenzie Adams of UTSA picks up her fifth Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honor after averaging 7.67 kills and 8.0 points per set last weekend.

Fleming, a 5-9, Jr., from Columbus, Ga., averaged a C-USA weekly-best 14.50 assists per set and 1.75 digs per set in helping Southern Miss go 1-1 against Marshall and FIU. She recorded 55 assists against Marshall to go with four kills and nine digs. She then recorded a career-high 61 assists against FIU. Fleming collected six kills on a .455 hitting clip and 14 digs and added a block. This is her first Setter of the Week honor.
