Southern Miss Heads West To Face Tulane and UTEP

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- After three matches that saw the Golden Eagles snap a four-match losing streak, Southern Miss hits the road for the first of two Conference USA weekend series. Southern Miss heads west to play Tulane in College Station and then on to El Paso for a match at UTEP.

Southern Miss (6-10, 0-7) is coming off a 3-0 win over Alcorn State on Tuesday. Jazzmien Stephens recorded 10 kills with no hitting errors in 14 attempts, while Cassie Conley had 9 kills in 10 attempts. The team finished with a season-high .506 attack percentage.

Five Lady Eagles have 100 or more kills, led by Ashley Petrinec with 176. Amanda Blunck continues to lead the team in digs with 228 and ranks seventh among C-USA leaders, while Ednali Serralta leads the team in assists (614) and aces (22).

Tulane comes in with a 1-7 record and 0-5 mark in league play. Sara Radosevic leads her team in kills with 127 and ranks third in the league. Kelli Dickson is averaging 6.00 digs per game, ranking second in C-USA.Luna Rebrovic has record 309 assists.

UTEP has a record of 13-7 and 3-4. Kari Stacy leads the Miners in kills with 313, ranking sixth in the league in kills per game. Brittany Stowers leads team in digs with 349 and also ranks among C-USA leaders.

Following the UTEP match, Southern Miss hosts in-state rival Alcorn State, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
