HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss volleyball team is set to host a pair of Conference USA matches this weekend when UTSA visits Reed Green Coliseum on Friday and UTEP on Sunday.

Friday's match has been designated as First Responders Night. All first responders will receive free admission by showing an ID at the door. They will be recognized during the match. First serve against the Roadrunners is set for 7 p.m. Friday.

Sunday's match begins at 1 p.m. and will serve as Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. All faculty and staff tickets are buy one, get one free. The first 100 fans will receive a free gold `Rise To The Top' t-shirt.

Golden Eagle Preview
Southern Miss is coming off a 1-1 record last weekend with two five-set matches and snapping a six-match losing streak. The Golden Eagles lost to North Texas on Friday, but bounced back to take a 3-2 win over Rice on Sunday.

Quinci Hayward leads the team offensively, averaging 4.02 kills per set on .239 hitting while Jasmine Crowell, Stephany Purdue and Elise Ames are next with 2.35, 2.33 and 2.40 kills per set, respectively. Ames leads the team in blocks with a 0.83 per set average. Kristen Fleming guides the offense with a 10.73 per set average while averaging 2.05 digs. Mary Pursell paces the defensive with 4.89 digs per set as four other Golden Eagles are averaging over 2.00 digs per set. As a team, Southern Miss is averaging 13.26 kills on .226 hitting, 14.76 digs per set and 1.73 blocks per set.

Scouting the Roadrunners
UTSA comes into the match with a 12-6 record overall with a 4-0 record in Conference USA. The Roadrunners picked a pair of wins last weekend with wins against FIU and Florida Atlantic.

McKenzie Adams leads the team in kills with a 5.37 per set average while Dajana Boskovi is next at 3.02 kills per set. Adams also leads the league in kills. Brandy Huskey and Jessica Waldrip guide the offense with 9.67 and 8.50 assists per set, respectively. Annie Kunes leads the team in digs with 5.22 digs per set. As a team, the Roadrunners are averaging 13.65 kills per set on .256 hitting, 18.25 digs per set and 2.55 blocks per set.

Scouting the Miners
Prior to the Southern Miss match, the Miners played at Middle Tennessee. Heading into that match, UTEP was 9-6 overall and 3-1 in C-USA play.

Xitlali Herrera leads the team in kills with a 4.12 per set average while Talia Jones is next at 3.35 kills per set. Herrera also leads the team in blocks at 1.00 per set. Malia Patterson guides the offense with 10.37 assists per set. Victoria Valencia leads the team in digs with 3.76 digs per set. As a team, the Miners are averaging 13.59 kills per set on .234 hitting, 14.49 digs per set and 2.01 blocks per set.

What's Next?
The Golden Eagles will hit the road for a pair of C-USA matches when Southern Miss travels to Tulane on Oct. 18 and Louisiana Tech, Oct. 20.
