Southern Miss Preps for Meeting with the Blue Raiders
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss volleyball team welcomes Conference USA foe Middle Tennessee to Reed Green Coliseum on Friday night. Action is set to begin at 6 p.m.

The Golden Eagles enter the match 16-5 and 3-1 in conference play after a C-USA victory last Sunday. Southern Miss defeated UAB, 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22). The Golden Eagles attacked at a .183 clip against the Blazers. Junior Stephany Purdue leads the team offensively with 4.15 kills per set to go with 2.31 digs, while freshman Kylie Grandy is next at 2.31 kills and 2.54 digs per set. Freshman setter Sarah Bell guides the offense with 9.61 assists per set. Senior libero Mary Pursell owns a team-leading 4.50 digs per set. Senior Elise Ames leads the squad with 86 total blocks.

Golden Eagle Volleyball Falls 3-1 to Middle Tennessee
Southern Miss duo of Jasmine Crowell and Quinci Hayward recorded 11 kills each, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles dropped a 3-1 match to Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
Scouting the Blue Raiders
Middle Tennessee is coming off a 3-1 loss Western Kentucky. The Blue Raiders sit at 4-15 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Chelsea Ross leads Middle Tennessee offensively with 4.70 kills per set. Jacqueline Lux leads the team with 4.16 digs while Brianna Pannone and Delaney Taylor combine for 12.13 assists per set in the 6-2 offense.
Southern Miss vs. Middle Tennessee
This is the fifth meeting between the two teams. Middle Tennessee owns a 3-1 record against the Golden Eagles that dates back to 1994.
