Repsher Named C-USA Freshman of the Week for Third Time

Oct. 3, 2016

IRVING, Texas -- Catherine Repsher has achieved a Conference USA Freshman of the Week hat trick, as announced by the league on Monday.

Repsher continued to build on her impressive freshman campaign as she led the Golden Eagles to a sweep of Marshall over the weekend. It was Marshall's first time being swept and just the Herd's fifth loss. She accounted for all seven of her team's blocks in the victory and was her fourth time producing seven or more on the season. Her 1.25 blocks per set rank second in C-USA and first among freshmen.

The outside hitter also added five kills and a service ace.

The Carl Junction, Mo., native is chasing UTSA's Amanda Gonzales for most Freshman of the Week honors in a season (four, accomplished in 2015). Senior Stephany Purdue was also named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 6.

The Golden Eagles (13-5, 2-1 C-USA) will be home Thursday at 6 p.m. to face Western Kentucky (16-2, 4-0 C-USA).
