Volleyball's Fan Day Set for Saturday, Aug. 20
Clinic, Black and Gold intrasquad scrimmage highlight the day
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss volleyball program is proud to announce its annual Fan Day is set for Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. in Reed Green Coliseum. Admission is free.
Aspiring athletes that are 12 and younger are welcome to take part in the youth clinic that runs from 1-2 p.m. The Golden Eagle squad will then take the floor for their Black and Gold scrimmage at 2:30.
Another opportunity for fans to meet the program will be this coming Saturday at 2 p.m., where the soccer and football teams will also be present at the Lake Terrace Convention Center for the 21st Annual Eagle Fanfare.
Head coach Amanda Berkley is entering her fourth season at Southern Miss. She has a 61-39 record, including a 24-11 mark that served as the Golden Eagles' most wins since posting 27 in 2009. Berkley's first team, in 2013, more than doubled its win total from 2012.
The year begins with the Southern Miss Invitational, set for Aug. 26-27. The action will be held at Oak Grove High School, and the Golden Eagles will begin their campaign that Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
