Southern Miss opens the 2015 campaign by hosting Nicholls, Mercer and Southern in the Southern Miss Invitational, Aug. 28-29. The Golden Eagles will also host Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 1) before traveling to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Bama Bash Sept. 4-5 with College of Charleston, Northwestern State, Alabama and Tulsa. The Golden Eagles will face Memphis, Mississippi State and Austin Peay in the Tiger Invitational on Sept. 18-19.
"We are playing against several SEC teams including in state rivals, Mississippi State and Ole Miss will prove to be challenging for us," said Berkley. "All of our preseason tournaments will help prepare our team for the very difficult Conference USA schedule."
The league will play a 16-match format, playing in one division with Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, UAB, UTEP, UTSA and Western Kentucky. Teams play all 12 opponents at least once, as well as a home-and-home series against four conference opponents. The top eight teams will qualify for the C-USA postseason tournament.
