HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Registration remains open for the Southern Miss volleyball camps in the month of July according to head volleyball coach Abbey Sutherland.
The July camps begin July 10 with a camp designed for the Libero/Defense positions. A setter/hitter camp is set for July 11 as the camp concentrates on instruction for setters and hitters. The camp will split up the setters and hitters and then finish with both groups combined to focus on different sets and attacks. The Elite Level Camp is set for July 12-15. This Residential/Commuter four-day ELITE Level Camp is for the experienced volleyball player. This camp brushes up on fundamentals and then moves on to scrimmages and match play. (Must play club volleyball & consult with Amanda Berkley prior to sign-up)
On July 16-18, a team camp will is set and will include team competition, skill instruction and game strategies. A two-day camp has been set aside for beginners on July 23-24. The camp is designed for people with little or no experience playing the sport. Emphasis is on fun and creating a love for the sport of volleyball. Boys and girls are both welcome to attend.
The camps season concludes with a High School Preparation Clinic on July 25. This camp is designed to prepare high school volleyball players for the start of their high school season. The camp will brush up on fundamentals and end with game play. 7th and 8th graders are welcome to attend!
