HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The 2007 Southern Miss volleyball media guide earned third place in District VI in the College Sports Information Directors of America publication contest.

Southern Miss Associate Athletic Media Relations Director Shirley Hill served as editor of the book, which placed behind Texas A&M and Baylor in the district competition. The layout and design of the book was provided by Provations Group in Nicholasville, Ky.

"Shirley did an outstanding job putting this publication together and this is a tribute to the hard work that she put into this project," said Southern Miss Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations Jack Duggan.

The media guide also finished 11th overall of the 67 entries in the contest.

This is the second publication award for the Southern Miss Athletic Media Relations office this year. The football game program earned a second place nationally behind Michigan.
