Track and Field's Prudilova Named To The Conference USA's All-Academic Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - Conference USA has announced the inaugural 2007 Women's Track and Field All-Academic teams. The teams consist of six student-athletes, with at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average who served as a key component to their team's success. The women's team is comprised of seven members due to a tie for the final spot.

Headlining the list of seven outstanding female student-athletes are Keisha Walkes (St. Lucy, Barbados) of UTEP, Marshall's Marian Brooks (Flat Top, W.Va.), Marissa Daniels (Pearland, Texas) of Rice, Emily Malinowski (Slingerlands, N.Y.) of Memphis, Tulsa's Alex Becker (Guelph, Ontario, Canada), Jennifer Thompson (Arab, Ala.) of UAB and Hana Prudilova (Olomouc, Czech Republic) of Southern Miss.

Prudilova is a C-USA Academic Medal award winner and Commissioner's Roll selection. The 3.93 GPA international business major owns the squad's top six marks in the javelin, including an NCAA Regional qualifying throw. Prudilova's throw of 146'7" in the javelin ranks fourth on the C-USA Top Performance list.

The Lady Eagles head to the C-USA Outdoor Championships, May 10-12, in Houston, Texas.
