The Golden Eagle track and field teams competed in the 80 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays over the weekend, producing some solid performances in the process.
Senior Ashley Reyer had a strong push in the second day of the heptathlon, moving into the top 10 with 5,226 points and recording an NCAA provisional mark.
Freshman Vincent Tanui finished third overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:21.48.
Tori Wells turned a time of 12.10 in the 100 meter dash, while teammate Karla Thurmond recorded a time of 12.10.
The 4x100-meter relay team ran 47.17, while the 4x400-meter relay team recorded a time of 3:49.27. The 4x200-meter relay team finished seventh with a time of 1:41.82. The men's 4x400-meter relay team ran 3:13.12, while the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay team ran 3:16.65.
Freshman Ashley May recorded a jump of 18'3", finishing 10th in the long jump. May recorded a mark of 40'1.25" in the triple jump and teammate Aaliyah Shareef posted a mark of 40'0.75".
Hana Prudilova finished seventh in the javelin with a throw of 142'0".
Tanika Liburd finished second overall in the long jump with a regional qualifying mark of 20'3.75".
Southern Miss returns to action April 14, when the teams travel to Oxford, Miss., for the Ole Miss Invitational.
