TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Southern Miss track and field teams recorded seven first-place finishes that included a regional qualifying mark Saturday at the FSU Seminoles Invitational.

Cheris Fletcher recorded a school-record time of 54.04 in the 400 meters to finish first. The time was also a regional qualifying mark. Carmen Dennis ran a time of 56.58, placing fourth and Jamaka Wall was eighth with a time of 57.80.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team finished first with a time of 47.20, as did the 4x400-meter relay team that ran a time of 3:47.34.

Suesanna Williams placed first in the hammer with a mark of 52.73m (173'0"), followed by Rushae Collier finishing third with a throw of 44.30m (145'4") and Candace Burgard was eighth with a throw of 35.52m (116'6").

Hana Purdilova finished first in the javelin with a throw of 46.43m (152'4") and Jessica Bussey was second with a throw of 36.41m (119'5").

Ashley May was the top collegiate in the long jump with a mark of 5.85m (19'2.50") and triple jump with a mark of 12.33m (40'5.50").

Burgard was third in the shot with a throw of 12.91m (42'4.25"), followed by Williams with a throw of 12.65m (41'6") and Collier sixth with a time of 12.41m (40'8.75").

Stephanie Jones-DuBose ran a time of 2:18.37 in the 800 meters, finishing first. Parris Hodges finished third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:47.19 and Zuna Portillo finished eighth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:36.02. May ran a time of 12.32 in the 100 meters for fourth-place. Wall was sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.59 and Romesha Anderson ran 25.60 for seventh-place.

Vincent Tanui ran a time of 14:46.04 in the 5,000 meters, finishing first. Cornelius Duncan finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 46.91. JorDon Smith was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.98 and Leonard McLeggon was fifth with a time of 15.51. Rascive Grant ran a time 10.86 in the 100 meters to finish eighth.

Daniel Dir finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.36.

The 4x100-meter relay team ran a time of 42.21 to finish first, while the 4x400-meter team was second with a time of 3:17.46.

McLeggon was third in the high jump with a jump of 1.95m (6'4.75) and Myreon Sartin was fourth with a jump of 1.90m (6'2.75"). Ricardo Page finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 48.12m (157'10") and Aaron Ammons was seventh with a throw of 41.76m (137'0"). Page finished second in the shot with a throw of 15.91m (52'2.50") and Ammons was third with a throw of 15.48m (50'9.50").

The track and field teams return to action when the teams travel to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational.
