Women's Tennis Sign Three On Signing Day
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Southern Mississippi’s Head Women’s Tennis Coach Dominic Modise announced the signing of Arina Amaning, Maria Borodii and Yuna Ukita.
Amaning hails from the town of Dijon, France from where she’s ranked No. 1 in the region of Dijon and holds a Universal Tennis Ranking of 11.6.
Borodii a Kiev, Ukraine native posts a Universal Tennis Ranking of 10 and is ranked at No. 500 in the International Tennis Federation.
The final recruit, Ukita, a Tokyo, Japan native, records a UTR of 10 and was ranked at No. 600 in the International Tennis Federation.
“This is overall one of the best signing classes we’ve had since I’ve been here,” said Modise. “I believe they will make a great impact in our program.”
Modise and the Golden Eagles just finished its 2017 fall season after a 14-8 record last spring. The Golden Eagles will have six new players come the 2018 spring season, including the three newcomers that competed in the fall season for Modise.
Amaning and Borodii will participate in the 2018 spring season.
