Women's Tennis Travel to Auburn for ITA Southern Regional

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women’s tennis team is set to compete at the ITA Southern Regional at Auburn University at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

The four-day tournament is set to begin on Friday morning at 8 a.m. and will extend through Monday afternoon. A total of 16 teams will be competing in the weekend’s tournament including two Conference USA opponents, UAB and LA Tech.

Tanit Lopez will play Andie Daniel of the host team, Auburn at 9 a.m. in the singles main draw in the Round of 64. Tjasa Jerse will also compete at 9 a.m. against Trang Dao of the University of New Orleans. The Round of 32 is slated to be played on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

Elena Roca’s bye in the Round of 32 in the singles B draw advances her to the round of 16 to face Natalie Voss of UAB. Roca defeated Voss in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, last season.

Claudia Castella also secured a bye in the first round and is set to face Nadine de Villers of Samford at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
