Women's Tennis Host Senior Day Against William Carey
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – After five straight wins, the Southern Miss women’s tennis team are set to host their final home match of the season on Friday and will honor two seniors, Carolin Drescher and Alex Kitchen.
The Golden Eagles will host William Carey at 2:30 p.m. at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility for their ninth home match of the season.
Drescher and Kitchen have been doubles partners since their freshman season and hold numerous records at Southern Miss. The duo holds the best winning percentage in doubles play, second best single-season record in Southern Miss history from their junior season and have a winning season in four straight years in doubles play.
In singles play, Kitchen’s 77 career wins gives her the all-time record in Southern Miss history. Kitchen also holds the third best record in single-season wins with 26.
Drescher is close behind her partner with 65 singles wins, the fourth most in school history.
The duo is 3-0 against the Warriors heading into Friday’s match. The Senior Day presentation is set for 2:20 p.m. on court 1 at the USM Tennis Facility.
