Women's Tennis Team Falls to Arkansas State, 4-2

JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Southern Miss women's team closed out the regular season with a 4-2 loss at Arkansas State on Sunday morning.

Only singles were played as Arkansas State got wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and five. USM scored their points at No. 2 and 6 when Elja van Berlo beat Janie Nowland 7-5, 7-5. Alex Bradley downed Janelle Fung at No. 6 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 1, Tamara Slijepcevic downed Alexus Coats 6-2, 6-4. Jess Heeps-Eriksen defeated Moorea Williams 6-1, 7-5 on court five while Kate Lanier lost to Biljana ZMiloshevska 7-5, 6-4 on court 3 and Mackenzie Oskin lost to Ceara Howey 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 in the four spot.

The Golden Eagles (3-18) will head to the Conference USA Championship on April 19-22 in Memphis, Tenn.
