Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decidion to Abilene Christian

EL PASO, Texas - The Southern Miss women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Abilene Christian Saturday at the El Paso Tennis Club.

Abilene Christian took all three doubles matches. At No. 1, Carolin Drescher and Alex Kitchen dropped an 8-5 decision to Kaysie Hermsdorf and Micah Hermsdorf. On court two, Karina Gurgenyan and Kathrin Waidner lost to Brittney Reed and Erin Walker, 8-0. At No. 3, Mahitha Dadireddy and Lisa Noderer fell 8-4 to Emily Conrad and Nada Marjanovic.

In singles action, Southern Miss captured points on court 2 and six, but Abilene Christian won the other four matches. At No. 1, Micah Hermsdorf downed Mahitha 6-4, 6-4. On court two, Drescher came away victorious against Reed, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

At No. 3, Walker defeated Noderer 6-4, 6-2 and on court four, Kaysie Hermsdorf defeated Gurgenyan, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 5, Marjanovic downed Waidner 6-0, 6-2. On court six, Kitchen knocked off Ansley Boarman, 6-1, 6-0.
