Women's Tennis Blank Grambling State 7-0

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team earned its second straight shutout win on Thursday afternoon after defeating Grambling State 7-0 at home.

Southern Miss earned the doubles point by default after Grambling arrived late to the match.

Arina Amaning and Anastasia Cobanovic both won their second ever matches for Southern Miss after a 6-1,6-1 win each.

Elena Roca remains undefeated this season and picked up her sixth win on her birthday. Roca defeated Galeano 6-1, 6-1 and improved to 6-0.

The trend continues as Tjase Jerse and Rikeetha Pereira each won their respective matches on Thursday. In the last seven matches, the pair have both won all but one match on the same day. They each defeated today's opponent with a 6-2, 6-0 score.

Claudia Castella won by default. The Golden Eagles travel to Georgia and face Kennesaw State on Saturday.
