Doug Olson

Position: Manager-Stringer

Doug Olson is in his first season as manager and stringer of the Southern Miss women's tennis program. Before coming to Southern Miss, he attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he was a part of the men's tennis team. He competed at the NJCAA National Championships for two years and was titled a winner and runner-up at the Region 23 Championships. Olson has earned wins over players ranked as high as number five nationally. Olson has also worked for a number of camps and clinics, including the NIKE/Southern Miss Junior Tennis Camps. "Doug bleeds black and gold," said head coach Randy Rowley. "He is very knowledgeable about the game and he has a great deal of passion for tennis and coaching. The girls really respond well to him and his loyalty to the team is a perfect fit for the program. We are excited to have him here as our assistant coach."
