HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Softball program announced the addition of outfielder Arielle Pollock (Windermere, Fla.) to their fall signing class on Friday.
A product of West Orange High School, Pollock earned first-team Metro County and Metro Conference honors in 2012 and 2011. She also added an all-state second-team selection in 2011. At the plate, Pollock hit for a .495 average while also leading the team in stolen bases in consecutive seasons, 21 in 2012 and 25 in 2011.
Playing for coach Bobby Brewer's Warriors, Pollock helped lead the team to two district championships in 2010 and 2012 as well as a pair of conference championships in 2010 and 2011.
On the travel ball circuit, Pollock hit leadoff for coach George Paulson's Windermere Wildfire. In 2012, the team repeated as NSA Florida State Championships while also qualifying for ASA Nationals.
Pollock becomes the fifth signee of the class after the Golden Eagles added pitcher/outfielders Hannah Moore (Madden, Miss.), Danielle Block (Phoenix, Ariz.), pitcher/infielder Sami Robles (Texas City, Texas), and infielder Selena Estrada (Panama City, Fla.) on Tuesday.
Southern Miss is expected to continue the signing period throughout the week.
