Kim Crowson Selected to Compete Against Team USA
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss senior pitcher Kim Crowson has been selected to compete against Team USA representing the Alabama collegiate stars in Auburn, Ala., on July 22. The doubleheader is slated for 5 and 7 p.m., at Jane B. Moore Field.
The United States Women's National Team is gearing up for events such as the Pan-American Games (Aug. 4-13), 2017 Japan Cup (Aug. 25-27) and 2020 Olympics in Japan. The team is hosting exhibition games in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Auburn Ala., to prepare for their upcoming seasons.
Tuscaloosa will host the first games on July 20 at 6 and 8 p.m., at Rhoads Stadium while Auburn’s Jane B. Moore Field will be the site of the next two games. The two Alabama sites represent the only two exhibitions stops on the eastern side for Team USA.
Crowson started 21 games and pitched 125 1/3 innings with 59 strikeouts leaving her with a 2.35 ERA in her first season as a Golden Eagle. She posted a 1.51 ERA in non-conference play with starts against SEC opponents Alabama and Mississippi State holding them to just five runs combined.
“I am really excited and think it’s a great opportunity,” said Crowson. “I’m absolutely honored that the coaching staff asked me to be a part of this.”
Tickets start at $12.50 for general admission, $22 for reserved seating and $32 for Premium Seating at each location. Additional events at each venue include a softball players camp, an invitational tournament and Team USA and Alabama All-Stars practices open to ticket holders.
