Southern Miss Softball to Hold Winter Coaching Clinic
Jan. 4, 2013
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball program will host their annual Coaches Clinic over a two-day span, Jan. 19 and 20, at the Southern Miss Softball Complex.
The clinic will cover all aspects of coaching elite level softball, including four 45-minute instructional sessions on Saturday to cover pitching, hitting, and defense. In the afternoon, coaches will again go over the concepts and key areas of coaching pitching, hitting, base running, and situational play.
On Sunday, attendees will work with the Southern Miss coaching staff, including co-head coaches Jon Malgradi and Kirsten Voak, as they go through a typical practice to include Southern Miss players. Immersion and the chance to put the previous day's lesson to use highlights that day's activities.
Cost for the clinic is $120 for the first coach from a school or club team. Each additional coach from an organization, such as an assistant, can register for $80. All attending coaches will also receive a DeMarini dry-fit t-shirt, catered lunch on Saturday, and an invitation and appetizers at the coach's reception.
Space is limited to the first 50 coaches that enroll.
