For Leumas, it was her third-straight first-team selection while Wagner earned second-team honors for the first time in her Golden Eagle career.
Over her four-year career at Southern Miss, Leumas has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while earning her degree in Kineseotherapy. The Mandeville, La., native started 70 consecutive games dating back to her freshman season and missed fewer than 200 of a possible 6,700 total minutes of game time over her career.
Leumas was also an All-Conference third-team performer and All-Academic team member in 2011 while also earning Co-SIDA All-Academic District VI honors.
Wagner, who transferred to Southern Miss from Iowa State following her freshman season, enjoyed a stellar career as a Golden Eagle and compiled a 3.73 GPA as an Accounting major to earn her spot on the All-Academic team in 2012. The Geneseo, Ill., native netted a pair of goals and four assists this season for Southern Miss and led the team in scoring last season with five.
"It is a great honor for these two excellent student-athletes," said coach Scott Ebke. "They exemplify everything we want for our program as top notch students and community leaders off the field and great players and teammates on it. Without a doubt, they are leaving big shoes to fill next season."
The Golden Eagles wrapped up their 2012 campaign last Friday and now turn their attention to spring practices.
