Soccer Eagles Fall in Conference Home Opener to Colorado College
In their conference home opener, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (3-6-3, 0-2-1 C-USA) fell to Colorado College 3-0 on Friday at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.

In the Miners, the Golden Eagles will take on C-USA's reigning offensive player of the week, Tori Martyn whose three goals and an assist over the weekend led the Miners (9-6, 2-4 C-USA) to a 4-1 upset victory over previously unbeaten Memphis and a 3-2 victory over UAB.

Colorado College (8-3-4, 3-2-1 C-USA) currently sits in fifth in the C-USA standings and is coming off a split weekend where they fell to the Tigers of Memphis but knocked off UAB at home. Sunday's match will complete a four-game homestand for Colorado College.

Both UTEP and Colorado College rank in the top three in the conference in shots per game, averaging over 16 each, and top four in goals per game, racking up over 1.8 each match.

"These are two very explosive, speedy offenses we will take on this weekend," said Coach Scott Ebke. "They make opposing defenses work extremely hard and we will have to be ready."

Kickoff for Friday's match in El Paso is set for 7 p.m. while Sunday's match in Colorado Springs will begin at 1 p.m.
