Soccer Continues Season in South Florida

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's soccer team will look to get another conference win this weekend as they are on the road in the Sunshine State for games against FIU and Florida Atlantic. Kickoff against the FIU Panthers is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Friday in Miami. The Golden Eagles then travel to Boca Raton on Sunday to take on Florida Atlantic at noon.

The Golden Eagles (3-7-3, 1-3-0) are coming off a split weekend, beating Charlotte 1-0 at home on Friday night before losing to Louisiana Tech 2-0 in Ruston, La.

On Friday. Freshman Kiersten Bradley scored the lone goal against the 49ers in the second minute of the game to get the team's first conference win.

Bradley, Stephanie Garcia, Somer Jones and Aisa Ribbens lead the Golden Eagles in goals so far this season with two apiece.

This will be the first meeting between the Golden Eagles and both of their opponents this weekend.

Scouting the Opposition:
FIU: The Panthers (6-7, 2-2 C-USA) are coming off an 0-2 conference weekend. FIU lost to preseason favorite Rice, 4-2, on Friday before falling to North Texas on Sunday, 1-0.

Florida Atlantic: The Owls (7-7, 1-3 C-USA) also got their first conference win last weekend, as they fell to North Texas, 2-1, on Friday before beating Rice, 3-2, on Sunday in double overtime. Florida Atlantic open up the weekend on Friday with a match against Louisiana Tech.
