Golden Eagle Flyby -- Presnell, Rivera, Snyder

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- This week for Golden Eagle Flyby, we sit down with three members of the Southern Miss women's soccer team -- Shelby Presnell, Andrea Rivera, and Brittany Snyder.

The first person we sit down with is goalkeeper, Shelby Presnell. Presnell is an athletic training major from Pensacola, Fla. She joined the team last year during the middle of the season as a walk-on. She played in 10 games and made nine starts as a freshman. She recorded 50 saves during the season.

The next Golden Eagle we meet with this week is Andrea Rivera. Rivera is a midfielder / forward from Pensacola, Fla. During her freshman year, she played in 10 games and started one. She is majoring in pre-law.

The last person we meet with this week is Snyder. Snyder is a goalkeeper from Biloxi, Miss. She played at Biloxi High School where she was the team captain for her final three seasons. Snyder started 112 games, making 701 saves and had 62 shutouts. Snyder is a political science major.

Q: What brought you to Southern Miss?
SP: I came to Southern Miss for the in-state tuition and university has a smaller campus.

Q: How has Southern Miss impacted your life since you started here?
SP: Southern Miss has allowed me to make more friends since I started school.

Q: Do you have any fun plans outside of your season? i.e., a vacation?
SP: What is outside of season?

Q: Who was your favorite teacher in grade school?
SP: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Bromley.

Q: Who are the top three people you could have dinner with?
SP: The top three people I would have dinner with are Barack Obama, 50 Cent, and Mother Theresa.

Q: Funniest thing that has happened to you at a competition?
SP: There is nothing funny about competition.

Andrea Rivera, Midfielder / Forward
Q: How has Southern Miss impacted tour life since you started here?
AR: Southern Miss has made me more focused.

Q: What is the biggest difference between high school and collegiate athletics?
AR: The biggest difference is that collegiate athletics is a lot more competitive.

Q: If you were writing an autobiography, how would you end it?
AR: I would end it saying, "Retired in a tropical place."

Q: Describe your ideal day from start to finish.
AR: My ideal day would be to wake up, practice, go to school, then go home and chill.

Q: Describe yourself in four words.
AR: I would describe myself as athletic, outgoing, passionate, and loving.

Brittany Snyder, Goalkeeper
Q: How has Southern Miss impacted your life since you started here?
BS: Southern Miss has made me love the opportunity to take naps.

Q: Do you have any fun plans outside of your season?
BS: Outside of my season, I am planning on spending time with my family.

Q: If you were writing an autobiography, how would you end it?
BS: Retiring in Italy.

Q: Where would you want to go on a vacation if money was no option?
BS: I would want to go on vacation to London, England.

Q: What was the most adventurous thing you have done in the past year?
BS: Within the past year, I have traveled to Italy, Croatia, Turkey and Greece.
