HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss returns home on Tuesday when they play host to in-state rival Mississippi State in a rescheduled non-conference tilt at 4 p.m. at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
The Golden Eagles (3-3-1) are coming off a 1-1 trip in Starkville over the weekend as they participated in the Bulldog Classic. The Eagles fell to tournament runner up Lipscomb, 3-1, and toppled Arkansas-Pine Bluff 2-1.
Senior keeper Hannah Vanderboegh has worked all but one game between the pipes and leads the keepers in saves and minutes played.
Striker Jordan Wagner was held in check over the weekend but continues to be the top offensive threat for Southern Miss. The junior has recorded four goals in 13 shots on frame including a hat trick against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Bulldogs (3-3-0) come to Hattiesburg on a three-game winning streak and a tournament crown to their name.
Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-1 including a 3-0 victory over the Golden Eagles in 2010.
