HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Southern Mississippi soccer team and head coach Mohammed El-Zare announced the signing of Kelly Brahmbhatt to a National Letter of Intent (NLI). Brahmbhatt is a prep standout from Belleville, Ill.
Brahmbhatt played soccer at Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Ill. She helped the Crusaders advance to Sectionals as a freshman. The goalkeeper was named All-Area (Honorable Mention) and All-Metro (Honorable Mention) as a freshman.
She tallied over a 1,000 minutes between the posts in her first two years of school, but missed time due to a midseason injury as a junior. Brahmbhatt notched 106 saves as a freshman, 130 as a sophomore, 29 as a junior and 46 midway through her senior year. She boasts a career 1.48 goals against average at ACHS. Halfway through her final season at Althoff Catholic HS, Brahmbhatt has recorded 23 shutouts in prep career, including a career best 10 as a freshman.
She played club soccer with St. Louis Scott Gallagher (2003-11) and Gateway FC (2011-13).
Off the field, Brahmbhatt is an honor student and member of National Honor Society.
