Soccer Golden Eagles Fall to Rice on Sunday

HOUSTON - Mischa Tice scored her third goal of the season, off a Shelbi Moeller assist, as the Golden Eagles fell 3-1 to Rice on Sunday in Houston.

Tice's goal came in the 86th minute to pull Southern Miss (3-11-3, 0-7-1 C-USA) within two goals. Rice went up behind the two-goal day of Lauren Busansky and a goal from Quinney Truong to get the day going.

Freshman Mary Margaret Underwood led the squad with three shots, putting one on frame, while fellow freshman Brooke Hendrix added another shot on goal.

The Owls (9-5-2, 4-3-1 C-USA) were led by Busansky and Gabriela Iribarne who had four shots (two on goal) including an assist.

Southern Miss returns home to the Southern Miss Soccer Complex next weekend to host Memphis and UAB on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Admission to all soccer matches is free.
