Golden Eagle Soccer Falls 4-1 at Houston
Southern Miss moves to 4-2-0 on the season
HOUSTON, Texas -- The Southern Miss Soccer team fell 4-1 to the Houston Cougars Friday night.
The Golden Eagles' opponent got on the board first for the second consecutive game, but Kierstin Bradley scored off of a deflection to even it 1-1 in the 38th minute. It was the junior's first goal of the season and sixth of her career. Senior Becky McMullan assisted on the goal, the first of the season and fourth of her career
The two teams would battle for the remainder of the first half and head to the locker room locked in a tie.
Southern Miss had back-to-back shots, one by Miah Zuazua and the other by Karen Torres, to open the second half, but the Cougars would break the tie in the 56th minute and further their lead in the 64th and 74th minute.
The Golden Eagles have now scored 14 goals on the season on 108 shots and have a total of 11 assists.
Southern Miss moves to 4-2-0 on the season and stays in Houston to face the Tigers of Texas Southern on Sunday, Sept. 10.
The game will kick off at 2 p.m. CT.
