Mthembu comes to Southern Miss, following a standout season for William Carey University.
Besides recording a successful career at William Carey, where he landed his name in the Hall of Fame, Mthembu was a three-time NAIA All-American. He has played eight years of professional soccer in South Africa and has been called upon five times for the national team. His experience has seen him participate in worldwide events, such as the Iran LG Cup in 2003.
Mthembu recently received a bachelor's degree in business from William Carey University and is currently working towards his master's degree in coaching management at Southern Miss. He is the son of Joseph and Grissell Mthembu and is married to Marquise Mthembu.
