Women's Golf Heads to East Carolina for Lady Pirate Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team continues the season this week when it travels to Greenville, N.C., for the Lady Pirate Invitational, hosted by East Carolina and played at the par-72, 6,004-yard Greenville Country Club.

Of the 20 teams in the tournament, seven are ranked in the Top 100, including Southern Miss, who is ranked 98th. Also ranked are No. 3¬3 Coastal Carolina, No. 34 East Carolina, No. 61 Maryland, No. 75 Augusta State, No. 91 Longwood and No. 96 Old Dominion.

Also participating in the tournament is Boston College, Brown, Elon, Georgia State, High Point, Marshall, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Radford, Samford, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Yale

Golfers will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 and Tuesday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.

The Lady Eagles are led by junior Brandi Rodriguez with a stroke average of 73.50. Freshman Juliana Herrera is averaging 74.67 and senior Vicky Correa is carding 75.67 strokes per round.
