Women's Golf to Participate in John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team returns to the links this week when it participates in the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, Monday - Tuesday, Mar. 25-26. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,164-yard Eagles Landing Country Club and is hosted by Georgia State.
Southern Miss, who is ranked 89th in the latest Golfweek.com Top 100, is joined by No. 77 Old Dominion, No. 83 Kent State and No. 100 UC-Riverside. Also in the tournament are Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, host Georgia State, Houston Baptist, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Murray State, Samford and Troy.
The Lady Eagles have finished in the top five in seven of their eight tournaments this year. They are coming off a 14th-place finish at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate.
Junior Brandi Rodriguez leads Southern Miss with a 76.05 stroke average. She has earned four top 20 finishes on the year. Senior Vicky Correa is second on the team with a stroke average of 77.05, while leading the team with six top 20 finishes.
This will be the 11th appearance in the tournament for Southern Miss, but the first since 2004. The Lady Eagles have twice finished second, in 1994 and 2003.
The tournament begins Monday with teams teeing off at 8 a.m. CT. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.
