Women's Golf Closes Fall Season with Second-Place Finish at UAB Fall Beach Blast

Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's golf team recorded its second, second-place finish of the fall at the fall season-ending UAB Fall Beach Blast, hosted by UAB and played at the par 72, 6,050-yard Peninsula & Racquet Club.

The Lady Eagles shot a final round 312 to finish 54-over par, 27 shots behind tournament champion Memphis.

Junior Vicky Correa shot a final round 75, pacing the squad in a tie for third-place at seven-over par. It is Correa's first top five finish of the season and third of her career. Senior Sandra Sohlberg shot a 77 to close at 12-over par in a sixth-place tie. It is the senior's second top ten finish of the season and third of her career.

Sophomore Brandi Rodriguez tied for eighth-place after posting a 79 to finish 13-over par. It is the sophomore's second top 10 finish of the year and sixth of her career. Freshman Pair Noibanchong tied for 27th-place after finishing 22-over par and freshman Sarah Hicks finished 27-over par in 40th-place.

Memphis' Kathleen Glavin earned medalist honors at four-over par, while teammate Marissa Steen finished in second-place.

The Lady Eagles will take a few months off before returning to the links in the spring when they host the Lady Eagle Invitational, March 12-13.
