Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's golf team won the UAB Fall Beach Bash to finish its fall season, hosted by UAB and played at the par-72, 6,050-yard Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club.
It is the second victory for the Lady Eagles this year. They also won the ULM Fred Marx Invitational. It is the third time that they have won at least two tournaments, also doing it 2002-03 and 1998-99, when they won four.
"The girls capped off a great fall season with a win," said Southern Miss head coach Julie Gallup. "It was a challenging golf course in very tough conditions. I'm very proud of this team."
The Lady Eagles shot a final round 308 to finish 37-over par, 14 shots ahead of second-place Sam Houston State.
Freshman Juliana Herrera carded a final round 75 to finish five-over par in second-place, one shot behind medalist Shelby Hardy of Sam Houston State. It is a career-best for Herrera and it ties the team's season-best individual finish with Brandi Rodriguez, who finished in second at the ULM Fred Marx Invitational.
Senior Vicky Correa finished a season-best third-place after posting a 76 to finish seven-over par. Redshirt junior Lauren Judson had the best finish of her career, tying for eighth-place. Judson shot a 79 to finish 13-over par. It is her first career top ten finish. Judson also recorded a hole-in-one on the 174-yard, par-3 eighth-hole.
Sophomore Sarah Hicks shot a final round 80 to finish 14-over par in 11th-place, which is also a career-best. It is the first top 20 finish of the season and the third of her career.

Random shot an 87 to tie for a career-best 28th-place and Nguyen tied for 45th-place in her first career tournament after posting a 90.
