Southern Miss shot its lowest round of the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas, Tuesday, by posting a 324 score to place 14th in the event.
Sophomore Rebecka Nilsson (Laholm, Sweden) led the Lady Eagles with a 77 over her final 18 holes to place tied for 31st with a 239 total. Sophomore Clara Viladomiu (Barcelona, Spain) collected an 83 over her final round to place tied for 62 with a 251.
Freshman Jennifer Judge (Moss Point, Miss.) also recorded an 83 over her last circuit for a 65th-place tie and a 253 stroke total, while senior Jennifer Bodemann (Palm City, Fla.) shot a 93 to end the 36 holes with a 260 and a 69th place.
Freshman Virginia Espejo (Madrid, Spain) shot an 81 in the final round, after withdrawing on Monday due to illness.
Dominque Pytlewski of Colorado won the individual championship with a four-over 220, beating host Texas Texas' Megan Dowdy by one stroke. The Lady Raiders won the even team by 19 strokes over Georgia State. Texas Tech finished at a 900 stroke total, with Georgia State at 919. Colorado finished third at 920, followed by Oklahoma (927), Arkansas-Little Rock (929), Oral Robert (946), Colorado State (950), Redlands CC (954), New Mexico State (957), Florida International (959), Nevada (964), North Texas (969), UTEP (989) and Southern Miss (991).
The Lady Eagles return to action, Oct. 29-31, for the Gainesville Shootout II, to be held at the UF Golf Course.
