West Point, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf squad tied for fifth-place heading into the final round of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,024 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Lady Eagles shot a final round 305 to finish 48-over par, tied with Murray State.
Junior Vicky Correa tied for 18th-place at nine-over par after carding her third straight 75. It is her 10th top 20 finish of her career. Junior Brandi Rodriguez also posted a 75 to tie for 21st-place at 10-over par. Freshman Juliana Herrera, playing in her first career match, shot a 75 to tie for 25th-place at 11-over par. Junior Kaylee Random, also playing in her first match, posted an 80 to finish 18-over in 37th-place, and redshirt junior Lauren Judson closed out the scoring, posting an 85 for 62nd-place.
Kentucky won the team competition at 14-over par, two shots ahead of Tulane.
Tulane's Gemma Dryburgh won the individual competition at eight-under par, two shot ahead of Gabriela Lopez of Arkansas.
Southern Miss returns to the links in four weeks when it travels to Greenville, N.C., for the Lady Pirate Invitational, hosted by East Carolina on Oct. 8-9.
