West Point, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf squad is tied for fifth-place heading into the final round of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,024 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Lady Eagles shot a second round 300 to sit 31-over par, tied with Cincinnati and nine shots behind fourth-place Mississippi State. The 300 ties the third best second round score in school history.
Junior Vicky Correa is tied for 15th-place at six-over par after carding a 75. Junior Brandi Rodriguez posted a 77 and is tied for 20th-place at seven-over par. Freshman Juliana Herrera, playing in her first career match, shot a 74 to tie for 29th-place at eight-over par. Junior Kaylee Random, also playing in her first match, posted a 74 to sit in a 32nd-place tie at 10-over par, and redshirt junior Lauren Judson closed out the scoring, posting an 80 for 62nd-place.
Arkansas owns the lead heading into the final round at nine-over par, one shot ahead of Tulane.
Tulane's' Gemma Dryburgh leads the individual competition at five-under par, one shot ahead of teammate Emily Penttila and Emma Lavy of Arkansas.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
