LINCOLN,, Neb. - The Southern Miss women's golf squad is in 12th-place after two rounds of the season-opening Chip-N-Club Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,651 Wilderness Ridge Golf Course and hosted by Nebraska
The Lady Eagles are 79-over par, four shots behind 11th-place South Dakota.
Redshirt senior Lauren Judson leads Southern Miss as she is tied for 38th-place, posting rounds of 80 and 82. Senior Brandi Rodriguez is 19-over par and tied for 42nd-place after rounds of 79 and 84. Freshman Emily Ross is tied for 47th-place, posting rounds of 80 and 84 to sit 20-over par. Freshman Devon Spriddle is 22-over par in 54th-place and sophomore Jennifer Nguyen is 25-over in a 64th-place tie.
Nebraska owns the lead after day one at four-over par. Central Arkansas is in second-place at 19-over par.
Nebraska's Cassie Deeg and Steffi Neisen lead the individual competition at one-under par, one shot ahead of Wichita State's Meghan Schuetz and Malin Senneryd of Central Arkansas.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the second round beginning at 9 a.m.
