First Round Results
West Point, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf squad is tied for sixth-place after Round One of the season-opening Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, played at the par-72, 6,024 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Lady Eagles are 19-over par, five shots behind fifth-place Murray State and tied with South Florida.
Junior Brandi Rodriguez leads Southern Miss as she is tied for 11th-place after carding a two-over 74. Junior Vicky Correa is tied for 20th-place with a three-over 75. Freshman Juliana Herrera, playing in her first career match, shot a six-over 78 to tie for 37th-place. Junior Kaylee Random, also playing in her first match, opened with an eight-over 80 to sit in a 43rd-place tie.. Redshirt junior Lauren Judson closed out the scoring, posting an 84 to tie for 55th-place.
Tulane owns the lead after one round, firing a two-over par 290. Arkansas and Kentucky are tied for second-place at six-over par.
Tulane's' Gemma Dryburgh leads the individual competition at three-under par, one shot ahead of Emma Lavy of Arkansas.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the second round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
