Women's Golf Ties for Seventh-Place at Conference USA Championships

Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's golf team tied for seventh-place at the 2013 Conference USA Championships, played at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala., on the par-72, 6,426-yard Cypress-Marsh Course.

The Lady Eagles shot a final round 304 to finish 62-over par, tied with Old Dominion. The 54-hole score of 926 is their third lowest ever in the C-USA Championships.

Junior Lauren Judson fired a career-low 72 to tie for 19th-place at 13-over par. It was her third top 20 finish of the season. Her 54-hole score of 229 was also a career-best, and the 72 tied the Southern Miss record for low round in the C-USA Championship.

Senior Vicky Correa and junior Brandi Rodriguez tied for 22nd-place at 14-over par. Correa shot a 79 while Rodriguez carded a 73.

Freshman Juliana Herrera finished 21-over par, tying for 39th-place after posting a final round 80 and junior Kaylee Random closed out the scoring by Carding an 86 to tie for 47th-place at 34-over par.

Tulane won the C-USA Championship at 13-over par. East Carolina finished in second-place at 40-over par.

East Carolina's Nico Engstroem Skaug won a three-hole playoff to earn medalist honors over SMU's Felicia Espericueta and Gemma Dryburgh of Tulane.
