Women's Golf in 10th-Place Heading into Final Round of 2012 Conference USA Championships

Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Southern Miss women's golf team is in 10th-place after two rounds of the 2012 Conference USA Championships, played at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club in Gulf Shores, Ala., on the par-72, 6,426-yard Cypress-Marsh Course.

The Lady Eagles shot a second round 322 to sit 93-over par.

Sophomore Brandi Rodriguez carded a 79 to sit 20-over par in 38th-place. Senior Sandra Sohlberg and redshirt sophomore Lauren Judson are tied for 40th-place at 22-over par. Sohlberg shot a 79 while Judson posted an 81.

Freshman Sarah Hicks is in 45th-place after shooting an 83 to sit 29-over par and junior Vicky Correa is 34-over par in 48th-place after a second round 88.

Tulsa's Marita Engzelius is leading the individual competition at one-under par, two shots in front of Tulane's Maribel Porras-Lopez.

Tulsa leads the team competition at 14-over par. Tulane (+21) is seven-shots back in second-place and UCF is in third at 23-over par.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round. Southern Miss will tee off at 8:20 a.m.
