Women's Golf in 11th-Place after One Round of UC Spring Invitational
Crystal River, Fla. - The Southern Miss women's golf team shot an opening round 318 to sit in 11th-place after one round of the UC Spring Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Cincinnati and is being played at the par-72, 6,054-yard Plantation Inn Golf Resort.
The Lady Eagles are four-shots behind tenth-place Florida Southern.
Sophomore Juliana Herrera shot an 80 to six eight-over par in a 36th-place tie. Freshman Devon Spriddle posted a nine-over 81 to tie for 44th-place. Sophomore Jennifer Nguyen and freshman Emily Ross each carded 12-over par 84's to tie for 65th-place. Senior Kaylee Random was disqualified from the first round.
Lynn leads the team competition at 15-over par, three shots in front of Seminole State. North Dakota State's Sarah Storandt and Christina Langer of Florida Atlantic are tied for the individual lead at even-par.
The second round begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. CT.
