Augusta, Ga. - Sophomore Brandi Rodriguez shot a two-over 74 to sit in a tie for sixth-place after one round of the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, hosted by Augusta State and played at the par 72, 6,248 yard Forest Hills Golf Club.
Southern Miss carded a 24-over par 312 to sit in 11th-place, four shots back of Troy and Charleston Southern.
Junior Vicky Correa leads USM in seventh-place, firing rounds of 73 and 74 for a three-over par 147. Senior Sandra Sohlberg carded an eight-over 152 after rounds of 77 and 75 to sit in 25th-place.
Freshman Sarah Hicks is tied for 39th-place at six-over par after opening with a 78. Junior Vicky Correa and sophomore Sandra Sohlberg both shot 80's to tie for 52nd-place and freshman Pair Noibanchong is tied for 64th after a first round 82.
UT-San Antonio leads the team competition with a 10-over par 298, one shot ahead of Augusta State and Purdue.
Purdue's Kishi Sinha leads the individual competition at two-under par, two shots ahead of teammate Laura Gonzalez.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the second round, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Southern Miss begins play at 9:45 a.m.
