HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team shot an opening round 301 to sit in the lead heading into the final round of the 20th annual Lady Eagle Invitational. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,111-yard Hattiesburg Country Club.
The Lady Eagles are one-shot in front of Memphis
Senior Brandi Rodriguez fired a two-under 70 to sit in the lead. The 70 is Rodriguez' fifth round of par or better this year and the 13th of her career.
Freshman Devon Spriddle is tied for sixth-place after carding a career-best 73. Senior Lauren Judson, sophomore Juliana Herrera and freshman Emily Ross are all tied for 24th-place after each shooting a 79.
Senior Kaylee Random 40th-place after carding an 81. Sophomore Jennifer Nguyen, posted an 82 to sit in a 47th-place tie. Sophomore MacKenzie Kelly and junior Charlotte McLoughlin shot an 87 and 94, respectively.
The final round begins tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. CT.
