The 2015-2016 Southern Miss Golden Eagles’ women’s golf team was the best in program history.
The team will travel well over 10,000 miles on their way to Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky for events.
Ross is a rising senior for the Golden Eagles this upcoming academic year.
It was the highest ever finish for the Golden Eagles in the event.
2014-15 (So.): One of four golfers to participate in all nine tournaments, averaging 80.14 strokes per round...Recorded her first career top-20 finish at the rain-shortened Lady Eagle Invitational (3/9), tying for 14th-place...Fired her first career round of par or better in the first round of the Conference USA Championship (4/20-22), carding a 72...Also set career marks for low 36-hole score (147) and low 54-hole score (228)...Earned C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and named to Athletic Director's Honor Roll in Fall 2014 and Dean's List in Spring 2015.
2013-14 (Fr.): Participated in eight tournaments, averaging 81.3 strokes per round ... Had the best round of her career at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational (9/30-10/2), posting a 76 in the final round ... Set career marks for 36-hole score (158) and 54-hole score (238) at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational (10/20-22) ... Had the best finish of her career at the season-opening Chip-N-Club Invitational (9/9-10), tying for 42nd-place....Named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll in Spring of 2014 and Fall 2013.
Prep: Attended Hancock High School...Earned medalist honors at the Mississippi High School Athletics Association Class III State Championship, played at Sunkist Country Club in Biloxi...Carded rounds of 80 and 78 for a two-day total of 158 to win the title by 11 strokes...Helped her team capture its first MHSAA Class III State Championship as well.
