Faulkner Shares Conference USA Player of the Week Honors
This is her first Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA names Jamierra Faulkner of Southern Miss and UTEP's Kayla Thornton as Co-Players of the Week. Faulkner produced the seventh triple-double in league history when she scored 16 points, dished out 10 assists and pocketed a league-best 10 steals against Loyola (N.O.) last week. Thornton guided the Miners back from a10-point deficit at Kansas State for a 52-50 win. She had 15 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in the Wildcats' first loss of the season. Megan Palmer of Rice picks up her first Freshman of the Week accolades after guiding the Owls to a pair of home victories last week. She accounted for 17 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Faulkner became the seventh player in Conference USA and fourth in program history to produce a triple-double. The junior scored 16 points, dished out 10 assists and tied a C-USA single-game record with 10 steals against Loyola. She also became the 22nd player in program history to join the 1,000-point club when she hit her final field goals of the game, shooting 8-of-10 from the floor. Faulkner's 10 steals established a new individual single-game record at Southern Miss. This is her first Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.
