Jones Earns Co-Conference USA Player of the Week Honors

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA has named Takia Brooks of Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss' Tamara Jones as Co-Women's Basketball Players of the Week as voted upon by a select panel. Brooks scored a game-high 18 points in FAU's double-overtime win against state foe UCF. Jones also netted a game-high 27 points while shooting 71.4 percent (10-of-14) from the field against Mississippi State. East Carolina's J'Kyra Brown was voted Freshman of the Week after averaging 10.5 points at the ULM Warhawk Classic, including an 18-point performance against Alcorn.

Jones netted a game-high 27 points on 71.4 percent shooting from the field (10-of-14) at Mississippi State. She connected on 2-of-4 from behind the arc and hit all five free throw attempts, while grabbing five rebounds to go with one assist and two steals in the team's only game of the week.

This is Jones' second C-USA Player of the Week honor (Nov. 25).
